On 22^nd June some of our year 7 students visited the Sheffield Buddhist Centre. Students have been learning about the Buddha as part of their work on ‘Inspirational People’ and the visit was to reinforce and enhance their understanding of how individuals can positively change peoples’ lives.

Our students learnt more about the life of Siddhartha Gautama and how he became the Buddha and met ordained Buddhists who spoke to them about what it means to be a Buddhist and how they live their life. The final session was a stillness activity which gave students an idea of what meditation was like and what it could mean for them.

Our students were very enthusiastic and engaged in what was, for many, a very different and memorable experience and we were very proud of them. Well done year 7.
